About
High Park is Toronto's largest and most beloved public park, spanning 400 acres in the city's west end. Famous for its stunning cherry blossom display each spring, the park features hiking trails through rare oak savannah, Grenadier Pond, the High Park Zoo, beautiful gardens including the Hillside Gardens and Maple Leaf Garden, sports facilities, picnic areas, and off-leash dog areas. A true urban oasis for every season.
Our Story
Gifted to the City of Toronto in 1873 by John George Howard, High Park has been a public treasure for over 150 years. Its rare black oak savannah ecosystem is one of the last in the city, and its cherry trees — a gift from Tokyo in 1959 — draw thousands each spring.

Why Excitorama Recommends This
High Park is Toronto's crown jewel of green space. Come in late April/early May for the cherry blossoms, but it's worth visiting year-round for the trails, pond, zoo, and gardens. Our #1 free pick in the city.
