Our Story
Established to protect a unique pocket of Ontario's natural heritage, Eramosa Karst was designated a Provincially Significant Earth Science Area due to its rare geological formations. Managed by the Hamilton Conservation Authority, it contains sixteen different karst features, including the famous Nexus Cave and Pottruff Cave, formed by water dissolving soluble limestone over thousands of years. The area serves as a critical site for both ecological conservation and outdoor education, offering a glimpse into the subterranean processes that shape our world.
